FAQs
Exploring our common questions answered.
A whole-home water filtration system treats water at the main point of entry, so clean, filtered water is available throughout the house for drinking, cooking, bathing, and cleaning.
Reverse osmosis pushes water through a semipermeable membrane that removes dissolved contaminants like chlorine, heavy metals, and other impurities, producing purified water for drinking and cooking.
It depends on the system and on your water. For most systems, filters are replaced every 6 to 12 months. We tell you what yours needs at installation, and you can call us any time to check.
Because Orange County does not have one water supply, it has a blend that changes by city. North and central cities sit over the Orange County Groundwater Basin and pump most of their water locally. South county sits outside the basin and runs on imported water brought in from the Colorado River and Northern California. Those two arrive with different disinfectants and different mineral content, which is why the same system is not automatically the right answer in both.
It depends on where you live and on the day. Imported water arrives treated with chloramine, while local groundwater is typically chlorinated, and most cities deliver a mix of the two. That matters if you keep fish or use the water for dialysis, and it is one of the things a test tells us. Carbon filtration handles either one.
Our systems address a wide range of contaminants including chlorine, lead, heavy metals, sediment, iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide. Which of those matter for your house depends on your water, which is why we test first.
Systems are sized to maintain normal household pressure. Correct sizing is the whole game here, and it is why we look at your plumbing and your usage before quoting.
